Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
framework in the following areas:
Sustaining the Environment
The environment is a pressing issue in the world today. At IJM Land, our emphasis is to promote country living with a contemporary lifestyle as our way towards environmental conservation.
With this principle constantly at the forefront of our minds, we continue to design and plan our property developments with emphasis on
‘greening the environment’. Our trademark ‘greenstreet’ concept offers a spectacle of lush greenery leading into immaculately designed
homes created for comfort and prosperity. The provision of beautifully landscaped lakes and parks complete with leisure amenities linked through an integrated network of spacious roads and interchanges at all our developments create an opulent and welcoming ambience to come home to.
Our signature township development, Seremban 2 has a 15 acre city park with another 47.3 acre hill park and linear park being planned at S2 Heights
which is a 1,500 acre township extension to Seremban 2.
Over in the Klang Valley, Riana Green, a condominium project launched in 1996 was designed with a 17,000 square feet of green conservatory providing residents with a feeling of lush tropical environment. The Group also continues to contribute to the cost towards the upkeep and maintenance of our parks and conservatories as well as providing other resources such as planting more trees to improve and sustain the environment in combating global warming.
Contribution to Community Development
As a caring corporate citizen, we believe in building quality homes towards enhancing lifestyles and creating healthy communities in line with IJM Land’s branding – Bringing Life to Ordinary Spaces.
At IJM Land, we believe that everyone deserves their own living space thus the group sees the need to provide housing to all range of income levels of the community ranging from low-cost apartments to luxury condominium, affordable terrace houses to high-end bungalows and semi-detached houses in our developments.
IJM Land as a group is well received within the communities that we operate through the various community-explicit events that we had
organised. The past year had seen the Group continue to place emphasis on community building and promoting racial cohesiveness through
various events such the Mid Autumn Celebration, Blood Donation Drive, Dengue Awareness Campaign, Charity Walk in support of MAKNA and
various fund-raising activities for Homes for Under-Privileged Children and the Partners Against Poverty campaign launched by the Penang State Government.
The Group via its branch offices throughout Malaysia and its hotel operation at Holiday Villa Hotel and Suites Subang had also supported and co-organised numerous sporting events such as the Negeri Sembilan Cross Country Cycling Championship, Ipoh Starwalk 2008, Penang Starwalk 2008, Charity Go Kart Challenge and the 6th Annual Merdeka Fun Walk 2008 with local community associations and non-profit organisations in line with IJM Land’s objective to build communities and promoting racial harmony within Malaysia’s diverse cultural and multi-ethnic society.
In addition to the community events, the Group has contributed funds toward the upgrading of public facilities such as places for religious worships, vernacular and non-vernacular schools within our developments.
Employee Welfare & Development
The Board of IJM Land firmly believes that human capital is an important asset of an organization and recognizes that its employees have significantly contributed to the Group’s continued success and growth.
With this belief in mind, the Group had undertaken to create a safe and conducive working environment for its employees, invested significant resources in various training programmes tailored to the needs and requirement of its workforce in their various fields. Training programmes focusing on quality leadership, teamwork and effective performance were also conducted to equip employees with the required skills and knowledge to stay ahead in their working capacity.
A healthy, well-balanced and committed workforce is vital in ensuring the Group’s objectives and goals are met. By offering medical benefits which include medical care, hospitalization and insurance benefits to employees as well as organizing in-house sports
and leisure activities, the Group is not only providing a stable long-term employment with competitive remuneration packages but also hopes to foster good working relationship and building team spirit among the employees to propel the organization to greater heights.
